Networking and preparing leaders to engage in community transformation for abundant and purposeful livingRob became a follower of Jesus Christ at age 10 and felt a strong call to preach at age 12. At age 18 as a college freshman, he received a definite call to engage in cross-cultural ministry. Rob went on to earn a bachelor’s degree with two majors, and continued to earn secondary education credits and an introduction to graduate studies. He earned a Master of Divinity degree with two concentrations of study and with high honors. After further significant graduate studies, he earned a theological doctorate degree, and later a Doctor of Missiology degree was granted. He continued to pursue post-doctoral studies in cultural anthropology and post-modern studies.
After seminary Rob and his family served in parish ministry among a multiethnic neighborhood, and specifically sponsored and worked with refugees from Southeast Asia. He was state director for an Amer-Asian project. Later he served a larger multiethnic community in California and led in the founding the Bay Area Youth, an outreach specifically to multiethnic youth.
For more than 14 years Rob and Johanna resided in Southeast Asia. Rob was involved in higher education throughout the Asia-pacific region. In addition to academic work, Rob found delight in working with street children, and ministering with people in urban squatter communities.
