Reaching out in Hope and Love to the Children of the Solotcha Orphanage Steve Bellamah was born in Washington DC in 1955. He graduated in 1977 from North Carolina State University with a degree in Industrial Engineering, and in 1991 from Golden Gate University with a Masters Degree in Business. Steve has two adopted daughters in their mid-twenties. One is married and living in England with her husband and daughter, the other lives in Russia and is soon to be married. After a couple of short stints in Russia, sent by his Presbyterian Church, Steve moved to Russia to work full time to improve the lives of the children at Solotcha orphanage, and help prepare them for their futures once they leave the orphanage. He reports: "The ministry in Russia proved more difficult and challenging, particularly in the early years, than I could have ever imagined or anticipated. All the things that I had been told about, and was expecting, turned out to be quite benign compared to the unexpected." After eleven years, the full-time work with the children at the Solotcha orphanage ended in June 2008. However, Steve still visits the orphanage — at least three trips are planned for this coming year — and continues to administrate several programs that help the children in the orphanage and the graduates.
