Dr. Dick Stellway
Dick grew up on the "black" side of a racially divided city. His desire to promote better racial and ethnic understanding influenced his university studies in sociology, psychology and religion. Dick holds three graduate degrees, including a Ph.D. in sociology. He has been privileged to study in a number of developing countries. His writings frequently focus on the role and impact of religion on individuals, family, church and society.
For many years Dick's work combined university instruction and department administration with research in the U.S. and in Africa. While in Africa, Dick partnered with one of his students to develop a program to provide school fee assistance to children who lost their parents to AIDS.
During the past decade, he facilitated Viva’s Children and AIDS Forum, networking with organizations to jointly improve their assistance to, and advocate on behalf of, children affected by HIV-AIDS. He also served as managing editor of Viva’s Chris-Caba Journal.
Dick associated with CVI2 in 2002, and in 2018 he became a CVI2 Director. He remains committed to enhancing CVI2’s servant network synergism model, connecting with CVI2 Associates to learn from, draw upon and facilitate the sharing of their expertise as a means of encouraging—and celebrating—mutual growth, wellbeing and effectiveness.
Dick, his wife Janet and their two children currently reside in the U.S.
