Transforming lives through commitment, character & communityJohn grew up in the American Midwest, where he attended the University of Missouri, majoring in Political Science, then earning a Masters in Public Administration. He served as Staff Director to the Governor’s Council on Productivity for several years, and a section manager within the State's Office of Administration where he did speech writing, program development, and staff management. John then took up faith-based work in his hometown of Columbia, Missouri where he eventually became a senior leader in a local nonprofit organization.
While pursuing post-graduate studies in Chicago, John served several years as Chaplain & Life Coach for the University of Missouri football team. In 2003, John relocated to the Pacific NW where he earned a second Masters degree at Western Seminary, Portland OR, and joined the senior leadership of an established faith-based organization. Several years ago, while co-leading a faith-based entity, John also contracted part-time with CVI2 to pioneer a broader community transformation focus. John's community focus includes small and large event planning, coaching emerging leaders, and helping men through 'next step' life journey coaching.
In 2018 John enlarged his pioneer initiative, adding a campus outreach focus, and contracting full-time with CVI2 to do so. His campus focus, now at Lewis & Clark College, encompasses Sports Ministry/Life Coaching in affiliation with the Office of Spiritual Life. Among his campus audiences, John also serves in a variety of other helpful ways including public speaking and student leadership team management.
John's community focus includes small and large event planning, coaching emerging leaders, and helping men through 'next step' life journey coaching. John is a Certified Professional Coach (CPC), completing training from an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited program. He enjoys helping others with personal reflection, realistic goal setting, identifying practical action steps, and maintaining a solution-focused approach to life.
Through CVI2, John serves as a catalyst for change through speaking, consulting with leaders, life coaching, and engagement in building intentional, strategic, & cross-cultural partnerships. John and his wife Debbie currently reside in Keizer Oregon. They have 4 children and two grandchildren.
